311 is in the midst of their summer Unity Tour that’s taking them across the USA and will wrap up on August 17th at the Showbox Sodo in Seattle, WA. Their opening support through their August 12th show is Matisyahu when he splits off to his own tour, so the Seattle opener will be Lions Ambition. (Matisyahu is scheduled to perform in the Seattle area on September 17th at the White River)
For those of you not familiar with 311 they were formed in 1990 in Omaha, Nebraska. Their music is best described as a rock/rap/reggae/funk fusion. They have 11 studio releases and are currently working on their 12th release with and expected release day in early 2017. The band also had their own special event each year called 311 Day which fittingly is on March 11th each year, plus they’ve added their own 311 Caribbean Cruise which will be in it’s 5th year in 2017.
I’ve had the chance to see 311 numerous times in the past 10 or so years and they always put on a great show. So if you want to catch a show that is sure to be worth every penny of the ticket price, 311 is a winner.
Over the course of their amazing career, 311 has sold nearly 9 million albums in the U.S. alone. They’ve had 9 top 10 radio hits, including three No. 1’s. Their list of hits includes “Down,” “All Mixed Up,” “Amber,” “Love Song,” “Come Original,” “Beautiful Disaster,” “Don’t Tread On Me,” “Hey You” and “Sunset In July.”
